But that misunderstands the argument: namely, that another nuclear-powered government’s equipment could erroneously report a US strike and their airman could face a decision whether to launch a nuke in response. With little to go on but Trump’s reputation for hostility and madcap behavior, that airman may decide to do so. And there is literally nothing we can do to prevent that unfortunate series of events from happening.
