I agree that we can use technology, and largely do, to “help” ourselves. No question. What I’m concerned with, rather, is relying on technology so much that it makes decisions for you—and thereby enervates our will to make our own decisions. Or, to borrow your analogy, to willfully blind ourselves so that we can benefit from a seeing eye dog’s devotion and skill.
