Thanks for your kind words. It’s such an interesting phenomenon. I think we’re all coming to grips with different levels and types of connection. It’s kinda like banks and ATMs. Before ATMs, you only had one level of connection with the bank, i.e., with the teller. And then ATMs came along and suddenly you had two levels of connection: one transactional, the other personal. It’s not that ATMs are *bad* per se, just as text messaging isn’t *bad* per se. It’s that both make the individual aware of the importance of time and how it’s spent—which has further implications for how we feel about our relationships and ourselves.
